Two become one in this lovely vintage heart shape. I start with two arch shapes and rivet them together to form a unique heart pendant that makes a perfect gift for that person who completes you.
I'll be honest and say that I don't generally make a lot of heart shaped jewelry because I find the heart to be a bit overused. That said, I really like this particular design and particularly love the story of two separate entities joining to make one perfect union. This particular piece comes from a vintage biscotti tin. I've had it for years not really doing much with it, but this rustic heart seems like a perfect application for these two people.
The arched pieces are hand cut and the edges are filed and finished smooth. The arches are then overlapped and riveted together to make the heart shape. I then form it to a slight curve to add interest and rigidity to the design. The final piece is about 3" (40mm) wide and strung on a simple 18" (56cm) long, 1.2mm silver finish chain with a standard spring ring clasp.
All adaptive reuse pieces come to you neatly displayed on an upcycled card ready for gift-giving.
