As I've been studying human design and doing readings for people I find myself saying the same thing over and over again. Your sole purpose on the planet is to become the most YOU.
Thinking about this as I've been in the studio this month, I keep coming back to the eye as a symbol of our YOUness and how each piece of tin that passes through my hands is a singular act that has never before existed and that action will never happen again. Or maybe it will. Time is cyclical after all.
This series got started by playing around with using up a bunch of pieces I had created years ago for jewelry designs. Sometimes it’s good to save things, but it’s also good to use them up. Sometimes when you save things for a while you get new ideas for how to use them up. Somewhere in all of this hides a precarious balance.
Each piece of tin is hand cut, distressed and nailed into the block. The edges are fire finished black and it is signed and dated on the back.
This block is about 2” x 4.5” x .5” and can either stand on its own or be hung on the wall.
