“Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without.”― Boyd K. Packer
When I was a kid
I used to laugh at my mom for her drawer of 'gently used' tin foil. It seemed excessive at best, but more likely just a bit loony. Now I completely get why she did it. It wasn't about the money—though we are a frugal lot! It was about using things up.
What's my Why?
It’s this drive to ‘waste not’ that continues to inspire me. Thrift stores have been my happy place since high school—hunting for treasure and finding potential in what others cast off. Stumbling across the idea of using old tin cans to make jewelry, I was immediately smitten.
How Does it Happen?
Transforming tin into jewelry has been my work for nearly two decades. Using little more than common hand tools, I'm continually exploring new designs and techniques. Tin is an endlessly inspiring and fascinating material and it's my hope that the joy in making is transmitted through each piece.
