These one-a-kind talismans are a great way to add a little extra magic to your home. They are small art that can be hung in doorways, windows, altars, narrow spaces or any other little place that needs some magic.
I’ve been working with all sorts of new shapes lately and have been thinking more deeply about the symbolism of each of them.
The eye is one of the most powerful symbols known to many cultures. It can be an indicator of good, evil, protection, wisdom, knowledge, secrecy and mystery
Clouds are a mixture of the four elements—air and water, along with a measure of fiery energy and dust from the earth.
The waning crescent moon is used for banishing evil energy, break spells, and remove hexes while starting fresh with something new. It is also used to help you remember things. The waxing crescent moon represents a time of new beginnings. This is a time when you should start new projects or add new things into your life.
Rainbows bring the promise that the troubles of today will surely come to pass, hold strong in your faith and vision and the rainbow will bring fresh beginnings, and new prosperity.
Stones and rocks deal with solidity, stability and being grounded.
The symbolism of water has a universal undertone of purity and fertility. Symbolically, it is often viewed as the source of life itself as we see evidence in countless creation myths in which life emerges from primordial waters.
According to Aristotle, the hand is the “tool of tools.” A symbol of strength, power and protection as well as generosity, hospitality and stability
Of course these shapes may mean completely different things to you. That’s one of the beauties of talismans—they are specific to each of us.
Each piece of metal comes to me having lived a previous life--in some cases multiple lives! It is not unusual for the material to sometimes have scuffs, scratches, faded portions, and general wear and tear. If a flawless finish is important to you, please zoom in to the pictures here to look for imperfections that might be distracting for you.
All adaptive reuse pieces come to you neatly displayed on an upcycled card and sustainably wrapped ready for gift-giving.
