I have been thinking about clouds a lot lately. Something I read said that they are a mixture of the four elements. I get air and water, but I hadn't considered the dust from the earth and the measure of fiery energy it takes to form rain and lightening. I love this idea of wearing these four elements in the form of a lovely, puffy cloud.
These particular white clouds feature a gorgeous pattern of spiral beads on a wire. Don’t even get me started on the symbolism of spirals!
Each cloud is hand cut, filed and finished smooth. Then I connect the pieces with a little rainbow of waxed steel wire. The droplets are then connected with stainless steel split rings. A surgical stainless steel ear wire finishes the look.
The finished earrings are approximately 1.5" (36mm) wide and hang about 2.5" (60mm) from the ear.
Each piece of metal comes to me having lived a previous life--in some cases multiple lives! It is not unusual for the material to sometimes have scuffs, scratches, faded portions, and general wear and tear. If a flawless finish is important to you, please zoom in to the pictures here to look for imperfections that might be distracting for you.
All adaptive reuse pieces come to you neatly displayed on an upcycled card and sustainably wrapped ready for gift-giving.
