The recent lunar eclipse got me thinking about moons again. I’ve always loved those phases of the moon graphics and it occurred to me I might be able to mimic the look with tiny tin moons.
Voilà, moon phase earrings. 🌖🌓🌒🌑🌘🌗🌔
I know, no gibbous moons, but something had to go or these would have been 5 inches wide. Anyway, I’m not sold on the overall articulation, but I do like the big swingy boho style thing they’ve got going on. A bit outside of my usual look & feel, but that’s what 30 Day Challenges are all about, right? Working outside your “normal.”
Each piece is hand cut, edges filed and finished smooth and then assembled on the chain. The chain is attached to a waxed steel wire and a surgical stainless steel ear wire finishes the look.
The finished earrings are approximately 3" (72mm) wide and hang about 4" (96mm) from the ear.
