This is a new design I came up with while trying to see if I could come up with a new design. It doesn't always work that way, so, Yay!
I had a bunch of tiny leaf shapes sitting around that I had cut at various times and never put to use. I've used this particular shape in lots of designs (http://etsy.me/1esL3vb), but started to wonder if I could find a totally different way to manipulate them. After bending, folding and stringing them into all sorts of configurations, I finally struck on this cool little ball shape. It's fun, kinetic and interestingly structural.
These baubles feature the Chinese colors of heaven, good fortune and fulfillment, so are both lovely and lucky! They are approximately .5" (12mm) round. Each component is hand punched, edges finished smooth, formed and then strung on rigid German silver eye pins and finished with surgical stainless steel French hook wires. They hang approximately 2" (46 mm) from the ear. Each pair is made to order and unique, so please allow for slight variations with your particular pair.
All adaptive reuse pieces come to you neatly displayed on an upcycled card, wrapped and ready for gift-giving.
