The Native Eagle Symbol is known as “The master of skies” and is a symbol of great significance. He can travel between the physical and the spiritual world and is said to be a messenger to the creator. Although every part of the eagle has separate and significant meanings, the Eagle as a whole signifies focus, strength, peace, leadership, and ultimate prestige.
These amazing tins with graphics from northern Pacific indigenous cultures have been sitting in a bin for years, but all this recent reading about symbology has me seeing so much of my tin stash in a new light. There’s something about the mix of these ancient markings recombined into a piece of modern jewelry that I’m just a little bit in love with.
Each piece is hand cut, edges filed and finished smooth. The droplets are attached with stainless steel split rings and a surgical stainless steel ear wire finishes the look.
The finished earrings are approximately 1" (24mm) wide and hang about 3" (72mm) from the ear.
Each piece of metal comes to me having lived a previous life--in some cases multiple lives! It is not unusual for the material to sometimes have scuffs, scratches, faded portions, and general wear and tear. If a flawless finish is important to you, please zoom in to the pictures here to look for imperfections that might be distracting for you.
All adaptive reuse pieces come to you neatly displayed on an upcycled card and sustainably wrapped ready for gift-giving.
