These gorgeous bees come from a beautiful Patron tequila tin that covered in commissioned art from the Mexican artist Senkoe. You should take a moment to check out their amazing mural work @senkoeone.
I think we all know at this point how reliant we all are on the humble honeybee and other pollinators, but the bee has been revered for eons showing up in sacred rituals, myths and even origin stories. This modern take on this ancient symbol can now buzz around with you on your many adventures as you pollinate all your many ideas and initiatives.
Each bee is hand cut, filed and finished smooth. Then I connect the pieces with a little rainbow of waxed steel wire. The droplets are then connected with stainless steel split rings. A surgical stainless steel ear wire finishes the look.
The finished earrings are approximately 1.5" (36mm) wide and hang about 2.5" (60mm) from the ear.
Each piece of metal comes to me having lived a previous life--in some cases multiple lives! It is not unusual for the material to sometimes have scuffs, scratches, faded portions, and general wear and tear. If a flawless finish is important to you, please zoom in to the pictures here to look for imperfections that might be distracting for you.
All adaptive reuse pieces come to you neatly displayed on an upcycled card and sustainably wrapped ready for gift-giving.
