I love making these hand etched arched shapes in all sorts of wacky color combos. This pair features a lovely citron paired with a sweet, grape-y violet that I really love. I'm drawn to unusual shades and color combos, (keeps things interesting!) but I'm happy to make these in whatever color combo you can dream up.
I hand etch each piece of tin and then arrange them into a channel of tin to rivet them in place. The riveted tin pieces are then riveted (yes, a surprising amount of rivets for such tiny pieces!) to an arch of waxed steel wire and finished with a surgical stainless steel French hook ear wire.
The overall effect is oddly simultaneously wabi-sabi and contemporary. I've sold quite a few pairs around town already and folks say they are getting lots of compliments and attention, which is always nice to hear. Working alone in a tiny shop all day can often make it difficult to know if what your making actually resonates.
All adaptive reuse pieces come to you neatly displayed on an upcycled card and wrapped in a simple recycled package ready for gift-giving.
