These one-a-kind talismans are a great way to add a little extra magic to your home. They are small art that can be hung in doorways, windows, altars, narrow spaces or any other little place that needs some magic.
I’ve been working with all sorts of new shapes lately and have been thinking more deeply about the symbolism of each of them.
Crown Chakra
The seventh chakra is our connection to our spiritual nature and our capacity to allow spirituality to become an integral part of our physical lives. The cloud symbolizes our higher selves.
Third Eye Chakra
The sixth chakra is the energy center of intuition, intellect and reasoning. Known as the “third eye”, it involves our mental abilities, and our psychological skill at evaluating our beliefs and attitudes.
Throat Chakra
The fifth chakra is the center of your struggle with choice and the ability to release your will to Divine guidance. Its essence is faith - faith in our fears or faith in the Divine.
Heart Chakra
This is the powerhouse of the human energy system. From its middle position, the fourth chakra mediates between the body and spirit, and determines their health, strength, and balance.
Solar Plexus Chakra
The third chakra furthers the development of self esteem and personality, separate from your tribal identity. This is where you learn to draw and maintain strong boundaries and a personal code of honor. Jungian psychology represents the Self as a circle with a centered dot.
Sacral Chakra
This is the center of personal power, creativity, sexuality, and finances. Issues of physical survival, control, and one-on-one relationships are at the core of this energy center.
Root Chakra
The first chakra is the foundation of emotional and mental health. Your connection to traditional familial beliefs supports the formation of identity and a sense of belonging to a group. The stone represents our grounded nature.
Of course these shapes may mean completely different things to you. That’s one of the beauties of talismans—they are specific to each of us.
Each piece of metal comes to me having lived a previous life--in some cases multiple lives! It is not unusual for the material to sometimes have scuffs, scratches, faded portions, and general wear and tear. If a flawless finish is important to you, please zoom in to the pictures here to look for imperfections that might be distracting for you.
All adaptive reuse pieces come to you neatly displayed on an upcycled card and sustainably wrapped ready for gift-giving.
