These little half domes of tin reminded me of rain chains that you might find hanging in a Japanese zen garden. I think the cup direction would be reversed, but close enough for jewelry work!
Each dome is made from a hand punched circle that's filed, finished smooth and then formed. They are then strung on a rigid German silver headpin with silver spacer beads. They are finished with surgical stainless steel French ear wires.
This particular pale rose gold actually comes from an annodized aluminum tray I found a while back. I don't normally use that material, but I love this color and the aluminum is thick enough to be worked and hold a shape.
The finished pieces are about a .25" (6mm) wide and hang about 1.5" (36mm) from the ear. I can make them any length between about 1.5" and 3". Just note your preference on your order.
All adaptive reuse pieces come to you neatly displayed on an upcycled card, wrapped and ready for gift-giving.
Please contact me with any questions.
