I started cutting these long raindrop shapes a while back, but couldn't figure out how to make use of all their elongated beauty. It finally occurred to me one day to curl the tippy top part of the tin to create a loop. Sliding them on a medium sized wax steel ring sealed the deal.

This particular pair features one of my favorite vintage fruitcake tins with a lovely red and gold swirl pattern with touches of spring green. Each pair is made to order, so please allow for some variation with your unique pair.

The DripDrops are approximately 1.5" (42mm) long and with the addition of the waxed steel ring and French hook ear wire, hang about 2.5" (63mm) from the ear.

All adaptive reuse pieces come to you neatly displayed on an upcycled card and wrapped in a simple recycled package ready for gift-giving.

Please contact me if you have any other questions.

I've been making contemporary jewelry from decorative tins for nearly a dozen years and still love absolutely everything about the material. Searching for them in thrift shops and antique stores. Breaking them down to add to my stash. Finding the perfect piece of the tin to create an intriguing necklace. The fact they come pre-loaded with so much color, imagery and typography. Lately I've even learned to love removing and distressing the finish to create totally different looks. My work has been featured in Art Jewelry Magazine and is for sale in boutiques across the country.
